The Bull Bay Stealth Sniper is the upgraded companion to the standard Sniper in Bull Bay's inshore spinning lineup. It shares the same 24/36-ton carbon blank formula and SS316 marine-grade tangle-free guides, but switches to an EVA handle from the Sniper's cork, a change that improves durability and grip in salt water and wet-hands conditions at the cost of some bare-hand sensitivity. The series is marketed as lighter than the original Sniper and as the preferred artificial-lure choice, with reviewers noting improved casting feel and lure feedback.
Target fishing is identical: flats, backwater, and nearshore environments with artificials for redfish, snook, and speckled trout. Specifications mirror the Sniper closely across power ratings (ML, M, MH), lengths (7' and 7'6"), and line classes (5–20lb). The Stealth Sniper appears sold as the "stealth" approach, lighter in hand, less physical bulk, for technical sight-fishing and presentation-focused inshore work instead of high-pressure live-bait applications. Where the Sniper is a broadly capable inshore rod, the Stealth Sniper leans more toward finesse artificial work.
Three notable additions differentiate this series from the standard Sniper: two Travel models (BBRSSR12-7-TRAVEL and BBRSSR17-7-TRAVEL) in 3-piece construction for anglers who fly or drive to fishing destinations, and no Pink Addition colorway. The lineup otherwise parallels the Sniper's structure exactly, with 7' and 7'6" options across ML (5–10lb), M (6–12lb), and MH (8–17lb and 10–20lb) powers.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
Three-piece 7' M-power travel rod. Designed for anglers who fish inshore while traveling by air or cramped vehicle. The 3-piece design keeps the rod portable while retaining the core Stealth Sniper blank action for artificial lure work.
Heavier travel option. The MH power handles snook and larger reds where extra backbone is needed even in a pack-rod format. One reviewer confirmed landing a 33" snook on this blank class, validating fighting power.
Heaviest model in the series, rated to 20lb. The 7'6" length and 20lb ceiling push into the upper bound of inshore flats fishing, suited to heavy bull reds, large snook in current, or nearshore cobia on artificials.
