About Cadence
Cadence Fishing was launched in 2017 by James Robbins, a tackle-industry veteran who built the brand around a direct-to-consumer model: no dealer network, with the margin instead put into blank quality and a commitment to fund junior angling from profits. The company sells match and coarse tackle in the UK and, through a sister operation, spin and fly tackle in the United States.
The rod range is organised as a small number of deep families. CR10 is the core: numbered-power match float rods from 11ft to 18ft, feeder rods from 9ft to 14ft including distance and power builds, plus specimen and barbel versions rated by test curve. DL40 is a three-model 12ft carp range developed with big-carp angler Dave Lane. On the pole side, the CP ladder runs from the CP200 whips through the CP800 margin pole up to the CP3000 competition pole at 13m, all sold with match and power top kits. In 2022 Cadence took over sponsorship of the historic Superteam match squad from Shakespeare, and its consultant roster is drawn from UK match circuits.
What Cadence is known for
Cadence is known in UK match fishing for undercutting dealer-sold competitors at each spec level, a consequence of the direct-only model. The CR10 match and feeder rods are the volume sellers, using a numbered power system (#0 to #4) within each length so anglers can match the blank to the venue rather than to a single label. The CP poles ladder from beginner to open-circuit competition at 13m, with spares sold openly on the same product pages. Its closest catalog neighbour is Drennan's match range, sold through dealers where Cadence sells direct.
