About Breaden
Breaden (ブリーデン) is a Japanese tackle maker founded in 2002 and based in Nishiwaki, Hyogo Prefecture. The company designs and sells fishing rods, lures, egi squid jigs, and its own apparel line, with its product range built around light saltwater game. Its core disciplines are ajing (aji/horse-mackerel), mebaru/rockfish, and eging for squid, plus shore and boat big-game targets that grew out of its squid-game work.
The rod catalog splits into two families. The GRF (Glamour Rock Fish) family covers the ajing and rockfish light-game rods, organized into TK, TR, TX, and TY divisions that separate the ultra-sensitive Trevalism Kabin tone rods, the long-running TR series, the TX Rocketmaru baitcasting/bait-finesse rods, and the TY Trevalism Yogi ajing rods. The SWG (Sea Water Game) family covers squid and big-game work through the BG Light and BG Kabin kensaki/boat-squid divisions, the Specimen eging division, and the Monster Calling heavy-lure division.
Breaden pairs these rods with its own lures, including the Metalmaru and Minamo metal jigs and the EGIMARU egi line, so its rods are tuned around specific house lures and weight ranges. The brand markets its rods around feel and bite detection rather than raw power, positioning them as specialist tools for anglers who target aji, mebaru, and squid on light line and small jig heads.
What Breaden is known for
Breaden is a light saltwater game specialist. Its GRF (Glamour Rock Fish) rods are built for ajing and mebaru/rockfish on light jig heads and fine line, with divisions tuned for tone sensitivity, ajing, and bait-finesse baitcasting. Its SWG (Sea Water Game) rods cover eging, boat kensaki squid, and heavy-lure shore work. Breaden also makes its own metal jigs and squid jigs, including the Metalmaru and Minamo jigs and the EGIMARU egi, and designs many rods around those lure weights. The rods emphasize bite detection and lure control for aji, mebaru, and squid rather than casting power.
