About Leviathan Rods
Leviathan Rods is a family-run swimbait rod company founded by Eric Gomez in Dripping Springs, Texas. Gomez, an attorney who took up rod building around 2014 with a kit and pivoted from saltwater ideas to the swimbait niche, hand-builds the rods in the United States on North Fork Composites blanks that Gary Loomis' operation designs exclusively for the brand. The name comes from the biblical Leviathan, and the company donates ten dollars from every rod to the Foster Village foster-care charity.
The range centers on big baits. Omega is the flagship hard-swimbait platform: four 8-foot ratings from MH to XXH plus the extra-fast Omega Finesse, topped by the $999.99 Omega Ultimate on an NFC Epitome Air X-Ray blank with Fuji Titanium Torzite guides, and a made-to-order Custom Heavy built personally by Gomez. Alpha SoftSwim covers single-hook soft swimbaits in Silver and Remix builds; Simple Faith is the $249.99 value line; The Daily, developed with Jared Swafford, packs the Omega Heavy blank into a 3-piece travel rod. Trinity extends the brand into conventional bass rods on high-modulus NFC blanks, and collaborations add the Lake Pro Eyescope (with John Shin of Lake Pro Tackle) and the Muskie Merc, Alec Wieker's 9-foot muskie swimbait rod. Rods carry a limited lifetime warranty and sell direct plus through swimbait shops like Lake Pro Tackle and Tackle Warehouse.
What Leviathan Rods is known for
Leviathan is known in the swimbait community for parabolic, US-built big-bait rods on exclusive North Fork Composites blanks. The Omega 8-footers are the reference product, with the Omega Ultimate as the four-figure flagship and Simple Faith as the $249.99 entry that shares the applications. Alpha SoftSwim owns the single-hook soft-bait job, The Daily is the travel option, and the Muskie Merc extends the platform to 6-16 oz muskie baits. In this catalog it cross-shops against Dobyns' swimbait models, iRod, and the JDM big-bait brands like Gan Craft and Deps.
