About Evergreen
Evergreen International is a Japanese tackle company founded in 1995 in Higashiomi, Shiga, building lures and rods for bass and saltwater fishing. The company grew out of a lure-design culture led by competition anglers, including Katsutaka Imae, Ken Fukushima, and Morizo Shimizu, and its rods are developed and named around the way those anglers fish. That tournament background shows in the bass program, where blanks are built for specific presentations rather than sold as general-purpose models.
The rod range is organized in tiers. Inspirare, built in the flagship Kaleido program, is the high-modulus carbon tournament bass series, with Herakles serving as the core casting and spinning lineup and Orion, Serpenty, Phase, Fact, Synergy, and Light Cavalry filling out the bass catalog from finesse to travel. The saltwater side is just as broad: Poseidon for offshore jigging, Avantgarde for shore and seabass casting, Imperial and Second Stage for eging, and Salty Sensation and Superior for light aji and mebaru game, alongside the Artisan area-trout rods. In North America the line is distributed largely through the Brett Hite signature Combat Stick series.
What Evergreen is known for
High-end Japanese bass rods, led by the Inspirare flagship and the deep Herakles lineup, built on tournament input from anglers such as Morizo Shimizu and Katsutaka Imae. Evergreen is equally known for its lures, the Combat Crank, Wildhunch, and Showerblows among them, and many of its rods are designed to fish those baits. The catalog also runs wide on the salt side, from offshore Poseidon jigging rods to Salty Sensation light game. US buyers most often meet the brand through the Brett Hite Combat Stick. It is commonly cross-shopped with Megabass, Daiwa, and Shimano JDM rods.
