About Mukai

Mukai (向井工業; brand site mukai-fishing.jp) is a Japanese tackle maker focused on area (managed-pond) trout fishing, with secondary lines for native stream trout and saltwater tachiuo (beltfish) lure fishing. The brand is operated by Mukai Fishing Co., Ltd. (株式会社ムカイフィッシング), registered in Ichikawa, Chiba Prefecture. Alongside rods it produces area-trout lures: crankbaits, minnows, top water plugs, vibrations and spoons, plus feather jigs and wire baits.

The rod range is built around two families. AIR-STICK is the technical line, an ultralight (UL) area-trout series sold in solid-tip and tubular-tip versions distinguished by model suffix: -S solid tops are tuned to load on tiny bites and hook small fish automatically, while tubular tops cover cranks, spoons and bottom work with more versatility.
