About HÖWK
HÖWK is a Spanish saltwater rod brand operated by Howk Fishing SL, a company constituted in October 2017 and based in Puerto de Sagunto on the Valencia coast. The brand designs its rods in Spain, sells direct through its own store and through distributors in more than 40 countries, and backs every rod with a lifetime warranty.
The catalog is organized by technique rather than by price tier. Tuna popping is covered by the Bullfighter family, The Big Blue, and the Colossus 700. Slow pitch jigging runs through the Hot Spot line in overhead and spinning builds from size 50 to 350, plus the 250 Xtreme versions. The Special One and Special One S handle speed jigging in 200 to 500 sizes. Stand-up and trolling big game falls to the Invictus 30/50 and 80/100, the 80-130 lb Titan Red, and the Prince Edward. Shore anglers get the Maverick 10, Blue Care 10, and the Hirasuzuki rockshore seabass rods, while the Toy family covers light spinning, tip run, cephalopod, rockfishing, and tai rubber work. A five-model Bass Stick line, the Special Jig 74H, and the Swimbait Style 76XH extend the range to freshwater bass.
Every blank is Toray carbon. Most rods carry Fuji SIC guides and Fuji reel seats, with spiral guide layouts on the jigging and heavy-drag models, AFTCO Big Foot Super Heavy Duty guides on the top big-game rods, and machined aluminum HöwK reel seats and bent butts on the heaviest classes.
What HÖWK is known for
The Bullfighter is the flagship, a medium-action tuna popping rod sold in sizes 150 to 300 plus a 160 Travel version. The Hot Spot slow pitch family is the brand's other core line, with spiral Fuji SIC guides to stop blank twist, a Fuji trigger seat on the overhead models, and S versions for spinning reels down to a 50S microjigging build. The Special One S is documented against amberjack, tropical grouper, and cubera over 30 kg. At the heavy end, the Titan Red 80/130 pairs a No.4 bent aluminum butt with 40.8 kg of drag at 45 degrees. The Toy family and Bass Stick rods open the range at 299 USD.
