About G-Tech
G-Tech is an Indonesian fishing tackle brand building rods, reels and line for the domestic market. The rod catalogue is filed under joran, the Indonesian word for rod, and is organised by how the rod is fished rather than by blank class: jigging, popping, casting, shore and surf, and a small multi-piece travel group.
The weighting of the range says what the brand is for. Jigging is the largest group, and several of those tables split their rating into a fast-jigging and a slow-jigging maximum rather than quoting one figure, which is a spec convention only a maker serious about that fishery bothers with. Popping is the next largest, and a handful of shore and surf rods carry sinker ratings in 号 instead of lure weights.
Specification style is inconsistent between ranges, which matters when comparing models: line is quoted in PE on most tables and in pound test on others, length is usually metric but occasionally in centimetres, and one range puts its power ratings in the column headed Action.
What G-Tech is known for
G-Tech is known domestically for offshore rods, with jigging the deepest part of the range and popping close behind. The slow-jigging models are the clearest expression of that focus, rated separately for fast and slow presentations on the same blank. Overhead and baitcasting builds appear throughout rather than only at the heavy end, including electric-reel models on the heaviest sinker-rated rods. Anglers cross-shop G-Tech against Maguro and Relix Nusantara at home, and against Eupro and Seahawk across the strait in Malaysia.
