About Hearty Rise
Hearty Rise (Chinese name 哈帝來斯) is the house rod brand of Yu Tuo Enterprise, a Taiwanese tackle company founded in 1976 that grew from import distribution into one of Taiwan's largest fishing retailers, with more than twenty direct stores. Rod manufacturing runs through its sister company Hou Zeng Enterprise, established in 1982, and the brand builds in its own factories rather than contracting out: a Zhangzhou, China plant opened in 2011 (Zhangzhou Yutuo Fishing Tackle), a Vietnam factory added in 2019 (Hearty Rise VN Co., Ltd.), and a new automated Taiwan plant with an R&D center in 2023 (Hou Zeng Enterprise Co., Ltd.). Hearty Rise rods are exported to Japan, Europe, the United States and Russia.
The catalog is unusually broad for a single brand because it serves the whole Taiwanese fishing scene, not one discipline: saltwater and freshwater lure rods (slow jigging, eging, ajing, seabass, tachiuo), boat rods, iso and float rods, surf casting rods, and a deep bench of reel-less poles for shrimp ponds, carp and crucian ponds, streams, and long-rod lake and reservoir fishing. Model counts run past 900 across more than 200 series.
Blank construction carries the brand's three published technologies: NET-V III, a three-layer reverse-bias carbon wrap the brand describes as a seamless-rod concept used on its mid and high-end blanks; DOUBLE HELIX-X, a dual-axis cross wrap claimed to raise rebound strength by twenty percent; and OPP, an unpainted matte finish that skips the usual sanding and paint to preserve blank strength while adding scratch resistance and water repellency. The company also runs pond, lure, iso and stream tournaments in Taiwan and organizes beach cleanups and catch-and-release campaigns.
What Hearty Rise is known for
Hearty Rise is known in Taiwan and increasingly abroad for slow jigging and eging rods, with the Slow Jigging series (now in its fourth generation, plus Tokayo collaboration versions) and the Egi Style eging line as recognizable exports, alongside trout and stream lure rods like Valley Hunter II. At home the brand is just as much a pole maker: shrimp-pond rods, telescopic carp and crucian poles, and long lake rods fill half the catalog. Everything is built in-house across factories in China, Vietnam and Taiwan, and the NET-V III and DOUBLE HELIX-X blank wraps appear throughout the mid and upper range. Distribution in Europe runs through a dedicated EU lineup, and the brand sponsors domestic tournaments across pond, lure, iso and stream disciplines.
