The Saltiga Slow Pitch is Daiwa's flagship conventional slow-pitch jigging rod, made for dedicated offshore jig anglers made for grouper, amberjack, snapper, and other reef and mid-column species. The technique demands a parabolic loading action that imparts flutter on the drop and a rhythmic rise-and-fall stroke; these rods are tuned for that motion, not speed jigging. Not appropriate for high-speed retrieves or stickbait work. Blanks use Daiwa's HVF Nanoplus construction, high fiber volume, low resin content, paired with X45 bias wrapping at 45-degree angles for torsional rigidity without added weight.
The result is a blank that loads and unloads smoothly for jig control instead of raw lifting power. Guides are Fuji LRV titanium-frame, lightweight and tangle-resistant, suited to the braided PE lines used in this discipline. Custom EVA split grip over a Daiwa reel seat keeps the package light. Rod weight tops out around 5 oz even in the heaviest models. Six models, all conventional (baitcasting), all 6'1", all regular (parabolic) action. Power ratings span ML through XXH, ML handles lighter 80–150 g jigs in shallower water, XXH is configured for heavy jigs in deep water or strong current.
The uniform 6'1" length across all powers reflects standard slow-pitch practice and keeps leverage consistent across the range.

A closer look at notable models.
Entry of the slow-pitch range; suited to lighter jigs (approximately 60–130 g) in 100–200 m water. The ML blank loads on lighter jigs for pronounced flutter without over-driving light-biting fish. Most useful in shallower reef situations or lighter current.
Heaviest model, designed for deep drops (300+ m) or strong Pacific/Indian Ocean current where heavy jigs (300–500 g range) are needed to reach bottom. Still parabolic in bend, this is outside the popping or stand-up rod lane.
