The Eagle Claw Meal Ticket Crappie is a specialized crappie series covering the full spectrum of crappie fishing methods from short-range dock shooting to extended spider-rig trolling. The series serves freshwater panfish anglers who want technique-specific tools without high-end pricing, all models retail between $69.99 and $99.99. The lineup design is explicitly presentation-matched instead of generic. Blanks are composite construction, blended fiberglass and graphite, which balances the sensitivity needed for light-bite detection with the flex characteristics that prevent tearing crappie's paper-thin mouths during the fight.
Skeletonized handles reduce weight, an important factor in long-session dock fishing and spider rigging. Cork grip sections included. The composite blend is appropriate for crappie, where pure graphite's brittleness is unnecessary and pure fiberglass's weight is a liability in pole fishing. The 10-rod lineup separates into two functional groups by suffix. MTT models (12', 14', 16', M power, M action) are jig-pole or spider-rig trolling rods, the longer lengths and moderate action suit slow trolling multiple rods from a slow-rolling boat.
MTJ models (10', 11', 13', M power, F action) are jigging poles for vertical or pendulum presentations over cover. The shorter MT models (6'6" ML F, 7' L F, 7' ML XF, 8' ML XF) are dock-shooting, cork-pitching, or light-water casting models. Casting models included is absent.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
XF action on ML power in a 7' one-piece rod serves dock-shooting accuracy, the stiff tip provides quick lure delivery into tight spaces without excess rod movement during the swing.
Three-piece 13' jigging pole for vertical presentations over submerged structure; the extended reach keeps the angler and boat shadow away from fish while maintaining direct contact with the jig.
Longest model in the series at 16'; a 3-piece spider-rig trolling rod designed to hold multiple presentations at wide angles from a slow-moving boat. M action absorbs strikes without tearing crappie mouths.
