The VJR (Vertical Jig Rod) designation is precise: these rods are built for fishing jigs vertically from an anchored or drifting boat, where presentation is controlled by rod tip movement instead of casting. The technique demands maximum sensitivity to detect bottom contact and subtle pick-up bites in current or deep water. Guides are intentionally downsized compared to Loomis casting models, trading casting efficiency for weight reduction and sensitivity transfer.
IMX super-high modulus graphite blank is the same platform as the WUR series, but VJR action is tuned for closer-range work, the guides are not optimized for long casts. Full cork handle keeps weight minimal. Both models are 6'3", which is a deliberate choice: short enough to work efficiently from a seated boat position without excessive arc, long enough to control jig depth and feel through the rod tip. Two models with notably different characters: the IMX 751S WJR at light/mag-light power with XF action (1/16–1/4 oz, 6–10 lb) is the finesse option, wire jigs, small soft plastics, and 1/8 oz heads in clear water; the IMX 752S WJR at medium power with F action (1/8–3/8 oz, 6–12 lb) handles heavier jig heads and slightly faster drops in deeper water or current.
Both spinning only.

A closer look at notable models.
Extra-fast action with light power creates a highly reactive tip for detecting subtle taps on small jigs. Best suited to clear-water finesse presentations with light fluorocarbon and 1/16–1/8 oz heads.
Medium power adds backbone for deeper water, heavier jig heads, and setting hooks at longer line extensions. The step up from the 751S for stained water or rivers where more resistance calls for more power.
