The OCTOPUS BC TYPE K is a single-model baitcasting rod engineered for tako (octopus) boat fishing using a K-guide configuration to minimize line tangles during the repeated lift-drop motions of octopus jigging. Tako fishing from a boat is an established Japanese technique in which weighted octopus lures (egitako) are worked along the bottom to entice octopus to grab and hold, requiring the angler to detect subtle weight changes and then lift firmly against the suction grip of the animal.

The Type K designation refers to the use of Fuji K-frame (KW-type) guides, which reduce line-contact friction and prevent braided PE line from catching on guide frames, important given the heavy braided lines and repeated vertical jigging common in tako fishing. At 7'1" (approximately 2.13 m) and H power, the rod provides the lifting authority needed to break an octopus's suction hold from depth. Construction details beyond blank type are not fully documented in international sources.

The lineup is a single model: OTPBCK70H at 7'1", casting, heavy power. It is a Japan-market specialist; comparable models in the Prox octopus lineup include the Octopus BC and Octopus SP2 series, each addressing slightly different presentation formats.
