The Prox SHIRASU KOAYU is a three-rod fixed-line pole series designed for catching small riverine fish in Japan. Specifically koayu (juvenile sweetfish, Plecoglossus altivelis) and shirasu-class small fish in streams, rivers, and irrigation channels. This is a traditional Japanese pole fishing style with no reel, using fixed line attached directly to the tip. The name combines "shirasu" (whitebait) and "koayu" (juvenile sweetfish), defining the target species. The intended angler is a Japanese freshwater generalist or dedicated small-fish specialist.

All three models are multi-section collapsed poles with no reel seat or guides. Standard construction for the Japanese tenkara-adjacent small-fish pole category. Prox manufactures the series under its small-rod lineup. Carbon pole construction provides the lightweight feel required for a full day of repetitive presentation and landing of small, delicate fish. Line is typically fixed nylon monofilament matched to hook size; no formal lure or line weight ratings are specified for this rod style.

The three models span approximately 10'10" to 14'5" by length, identified by the SRKA prefix with section-count suffixes: SRKA33 at 10'10", SRKA36 at 11'10", and SRKA45 at 14'5". Longer poles reach wider water and allow more natural line drift for wary fish; selection follows river width. [JDM series, limited English-language documentation available.]
