The Tailwalk HI-TIDE SSD is a Japanese shore seabass (suzuki) lure rod series, sold as a new-standard shore spinning rod for contemporary Japanese seabass techniques, minnow twitching, sinking pencil retrieves, vibration lures, and large-bait power fishing. It is built specifically for the evolved Japanese shore lure scene and has found a secondary market among European lure anglers made for perch, zander, pike, and sea trout. The blank is a flexible, newly developed carbon structure (99% carbon / 1% fiberglass) designed to reduce bite drop-off and absorb fish headshakes and jumps, a deliberate departure from stiff blanks common in older Japanese seabass rods.
Fuji VSS reel seat throughout. Lighter models (86ML through 106M) carry single-foot KTSG/KLSG guides to minimize weight; heavier MH models use PKWSG double-foot guides for added strength under PE2.5 loads. A distinctive EVA rear grip profile is shaped for armpit-bracing during long casts or fights. Ten models in the series (9 in the batch input, the 86ML is appears on the manufacturer page): 7'11"–11', all spinning, all two-piece except the 88ML-P5 (5-piece, packs to 57 cm). Lure weight spans 5–60g.
The 711L+/SL uses a carbon solid tip for hesitant-bite scenarios. The 110H HIRA is an 11' rock-shore model with regular action and heavier guides tuned for blackfin seabass in exposed coastal terrain. The 88ML-P5 is the travel model, packing to airline carry-on dimensions.

A closer look at notable models.
The only solid-tip model in the series. Carbon solid tip designated for low-activity fish and hesitant strikes, tip follows short-take bites that a tubular tip would miss. Best with slow retrieve and suspending minnows in cold-water or pressured scenarios.
The power-versatility anchor. At 8'3" and 15–50g (per manufacturer), it handles big-bait seabass work, barracuda, and doubles as a pike/zander rod in European markets. Double-foot guides (PKWSG) at the butt distinguish it from the lighter models.
Five-piece travel version of the 86ML spec, packing to 57 cm. The only portable model in the series. Weight is 128g, essentially identical to the 2-piece 90ML at 135g, suggesting the multi-piece design carries minimal performance penalty.
HIRA (平) refers to hirame (flounder/flatfish) in Japanese, but Tailwalk's own copy designates it as a rock-shore seabass rod for exposed coastal terrain. Regular action at 11' provides casting leverage and wave-management distance. The heaviest guides in the lineup (PKWSG) handle PE1–3 for wind penetration and long-cast control.
