The Tiger is Ugly Stik's heavy-duty spinning platform, built for large and hard-fighting species in both fresh and saltwater: catfish, carp, striped bass, and nearshore saltwater species such as redfish, snook, and inshore sharks. The design prioritizes durability and lifting power over sensitivity or casting finesse, it is a work rod that takes abuse. It has been used routinely for sturgeon, halibut, and pier fishing. Blank construction is the traditional Ugly Stik hybrid: graphite-fiberglass composite, which produces a heavier, more resilient rod than pure graphite at the cost of sensitivity.
The Clear Tip design, a solid fiberglass tip section, is a signature feature for visible bite indication and tip-flex strength. Guides are Ugly Tuff one-piece stainless, which eliminate insert loss under heavy strain. Handle is EVA foam with a rubber gimbal for rod-holder use. The reel seat is graphite with cushioned stainless hoods. Both models come with a 7-year warranty. Two spinning models in this specific SKU set: TIGRSP702M at 7'0" medium power (8–15 lb) and TIGRSP902MH at 9'0" medium-heavy power (10–20 lb).
The 7 ft is a general-purpose freshwater/light inshore rod; the 9 ft is configured for longer casts from shore, pier, or jetty and handles heavier fish. Both are two-piece.

A closer look at notable models.
Nine feet at medium-heavy power is the surf and pier configuration, extended reach for casting from fixed structures and enough power to handle oversized catfish, stripers, or inshore species. The rubber gimbal supports rod-holder use during prolonged soaks.
