The Max is Abu Garcia's value/entry tier of single rods, sold alongside the Max-branded reels and combos but offered here as standalone blanks. Every model is built on a 24-ton graphite blank with PVD-coated one-piece stainless steel guides, EVA split-grip handles, a custom Abu reel seat, and a Texas-rigged hook keeper. The lineup splits into nine casting models (codes MAXC..., 6'6" to 7'6", Medium through Heavy) and nine spinning models (codes MAXS..., 6' to 7'6", Medium Light through Medium Heavy), with both 1-piece and 2-piece options in a few sizes. Power codes run off the model suffix: on casting rods -5 is Medium, -6 Medium Heavy, -7 Heavy; on spinning rods -4 is Medium Light, -5 Medium, -6 Medium Heavy. Most rods carry a Fast action; the two Heavy casting models (MAXC73-7, MAXC76-7) step to Moderate Fast, as do the Medium Light spinning models. Casting line ratings span 8-17 lb to 14-30 lb with lure ratings from 1/4-5/8 oz up to 1/2-2 oz; spinning rods cover 6-10 lb to 8-14 lb and 1/8-1/2 oz to 3/8-3/4 oz.
