BORON+imp. is a bait-finesse rod whose material changes section by section. Section 1 is E-glass, section 2 is E-glass with low-modulus carbon, and sections 3 and 4 are low-modulus carbon with boron. The graded layup gives each part of the blank a distinct job.

The flexible E-glass tip handles the short snap-casts needed to drop a lure into tight headwater pockets, while the boron-reinforced butt provides the power to land fish in complex structure. The result is a rod that casts accurately at close range and still has the backbone for difficult landings.

The series is a 4-piece, 4'6" to 5'1" rod available in both baitcasting and spinning builds, so an angler can match the cast to the water. Like the rest of the line it is hand-wrapped and built to order at the Tokyo shop.
