BORON+Trico is an area-trout rod for managed ponds, built around a solid tip. Section 1 hybridizes a 24t carbon solid tip with a 30t tubular butt, and section 2 is 30t with boron. The solid tip is the defining feature of the design.
The solid tip casts very light spoons a long way and auto-feeds the fish on the bite, loading into the strike so the angler does not pull the lure away. The 30t-and-boron lower blank keeps the rod from feeling tip-heavy despite the solid section, which is the usual penalty of a solid-tip build.
BORON+Trico is a 6'2" 2-piece spinning rod rated 0.5-3.5g and 1-3lb, sized for the light spoons and tight tolerances of pond trout. It cross-shops against the area-trout finesse rods from Valkein and Mukai.
