SWG BG Light

The SWG BG Light division is Breaden's dedicated boat squid (kensaki-ika / spear squid) lineup, built around three targets Breaden identifies as the core of the kensaki game: creating bites, imaging the hookset, and reading depth. Every model pairs with Breaden's EGIMARU egi, mid-sinker plus egi rigs, metal egi, single sutte, and multi-sutte presentations. The design priority is a supple, high-sensitivity light tip that registers the faint, subtle touches most rods miss, feeding into a belly-to-butt section with enough torque to lift egi and set into large squid.

Four models split into spinning and bait pairs across two lengths. The 7'0" 70S and 70B are the compact, quick-handling models for light kensaki work: the 70S runs a EGIMARU DEEP direct rig and metal egi with mobility around the boat, while the 70B is the baitcasting basic model with a good hold balance for feeling bites under the arm during a fall. The 7'8" 78S and 78B are medium-slow taper Long Jerk models with a bow-like neo-mooching action that jumps egi and covers a shifting hit range, and their longer length handles long leaders and long rigs.

All four rods share a 25 号 sinker maximum and a PE 0.4 to 0.8 号 line rating, with FUJI VSS grip-integrated seats on spinning models and a front-gripless seat on bait models. Guides are titanium-frame SiC.
