Gama Iso Gure Special T

Gama Iso Gure Special T is the November 2026 addition to Gamakatsu's Gure Special iso family, alongside the Gure Special F. Gamakatsu describes it as a lightweight body-action (dōchōshi) rod for large kuchibuto and onaga mejina, and spells the T out as Torque, Technical and Tradition: a rod that tires fish without effort, handles the rig precisely, and bends in the traditional Gamakatsu profile once a fish is on.

Six telescopic five-section models cover 1.25, 1.5 and 1.75 gou in 5.0 m and 5.3 m lengths. Weights run from 190 g (125-50) to 220 g (175-53), closed lengths 112 to 119.5 cm, tip diameter 0.88 mm on every model. Sinker ratings are 1-4 gou (1.25), 1.5-4 gou (1.5) and 2-5 gou (1.75); leader ratings 1-3, 1.25-4 and 1.5-4 gou. The blank combines Torayca T1100G with high-modulus carbon (99.5 % carbon), the joints use Gamakatsu's Ultra ASD, the guides are TCIM titanium-frame SiC with a SuperTOP2 tip, and the tip section is deliberately short and thick to steady rig casting and line work. List prices are ¥99,500 to ¥101,000 before tax.
