BLUE Ocean

The BLUE Ocean is a boat jigging series of three one-piece baitcasting rods, all 2.02 m on a 6 ft 7 in blank, in jig classes of 150, 230, and 340 g. Line ratings step up with power, from PE 0.8-1.5 on the number 1 blank to PE 2.5-4 on the number 3, and rod weights stay between 172 and 207 g on 99 percent carbon construction.

The design brief is a full, smooth bend that loads through the whole blank and recovers cleanly, and the mid-long 6 ft 7 in format gives a wide working stroke so jig action can be varied from slow lifts to sharper rhythms. The tip carries enough rebound for fine-grained jig control on mixed-tempo retrieves. The series is pitched at bottom species first, with the heavier blanks capable of handling sizeable amberjack-class pelagics when they intercept the jig.
