The DIKE Special was a discontinued breakwater series that thickened a seabass-style blank by 20 percent so it could work small metal jigs as well as plugs. Three two-piece spinning models covered 2.32 m M (12-42 g, 10-18 lb), 2.6 m MH, and 2.89 m MH (both 14-56 g, 10-22 lb) at 168-205 g on 99 percent carbon. The tip stayed more sensitive than a shore-jigging rod, and the extra backbone handled small and mid-size coastal pelagics, making it a general-purpose pier and jetty rod that could attack or hold back as needed.
