Direct Attack II

The Direct Attack II carries over the first generation's strength on a higher grade of carbon, in a short-section telescopic long-cast format. Four models run 2.49, 2.69, 3.11, and 3.6 m, in five to seven sections closing to 60-66 cm, with weights from 119 to 183 g on 99 percent carbon blanks rated in the 25 class. Large-diameter guides keep line flowing freely on the cast, which is the point of the format: distance work from reservoirs, lakes, and rivers with a rod that packs short.

The blank is built with enough reserve to resist large fish, and the section joints are thickened and reinforced at the overlap points, with upgraded finish and fittings over the original. The maker positions it as an all-round bait rod, equally at home fishing baits hard on the bottom or drifting rigs with the current, in fresh water or salt.
