FEV Squid Hunter II is the second generation of Hearty Rise's entry-level eging series, revised with a new action that the maker says lifts elasticity, toughness, and stiffness across the board and broadens where the rod can be used. The pitch is a tough blank that handles squid jigs comfortably in any venue, with a segmented EVA grip shaped for a secure hold, positioned so that newcomers to eging can fish it without an adjustment period.
The two spinning models are the 2.52 m SH2-832ML at 152 g and the 2.61 m SH2-862ML at 157 g, both two-piece blanks in 99 percent carbon. Both carry squid jigs from size 2.0 to 3.0; the 832ML is rated PE 0.5 to 1.2 and the 862ML PE 0.5 to 1.5. Standard ML eging numbers, aimed at all-round shore squid work.
