FEV Valleyman is Hearty Rise's pack-rod series for stream and valley fishing, designed with larger stream fish in mind. The blanks are high-density 99 percent carbon with a sensitive tip that telegraphs small takes and enough backbone to pull fish back out of current quickly. The handle uses an ergonomic reel seat with firm anti-slip EVA, and the cosmetics are a plain black finish that matches the series' function-first positioning.
The range is 12 models split between spinning and casting builds, nearly all four-piece travel rods: spinning from the 1.68 m VMS-564SUL (1-5 g lures, 2-5 lb, 91 g, 46 cm closed) through UL, L, ML, and M powers up to the 2.03 m VMS-684L, and casting versions from SUL to a 604H, plus compact VMS-364L and VMC-364L models. Closed lengths around 46 cm to 55 cm make the series backpack-portable for hike-in creek and gorge water.
