Gangdao

Gangdao (岡島) is Hearty Rise's iso float rod line built on a supple but forceful action. The blank is designed to load deep and then recover with enough backbone to pull a hooked fish away from the strike zone quickly, which matters when working ledges and structure from the rocks. Hearty Rise also worked on the weight distribution, placing the balance point so the rod sits comfortably in the hand through long float-fishing sessions.

The range covers four models, all 5.3 m five-piece telescopic rods in 99% carbon, graded 1, 1.5, 2 and 3 gou. Sinker ratings step up accordingly, from 0.8-2 gou on the lightest model to 3-6 gou on the Gangdao 3-530, with rod weights running 197 g to 233 g. Every model closes to 115 cm for transport. The lighter numbers suit finesse float work, while the 2 and 3 gou blanks carry the reserve power for heavier rigs and stronger fish.
