Maeuchi Tournament ZOOM (前打競技 ZOOM) is a maeuchi (front-drop) rod for black seabream along breakwaters and rocky shorelines, built noticeably stronger than the usual rods of the genre. The 3H blank gives the backbone to absorb sudden hard takes and steer fish away from structure during the fight, while an ultra-fine tip section keeps even faint chinu bites readable, which HR credits with raising the hookup rate. Smooth section transitions load the rod into a clean arc under pressure.
The seven-model range splits into fixed and ZOOM versions, all five-piece and 99 percent carbon. Fixed lengths run 4.73 m at 109 g, 5.24 m at 126 g, and 6.23 m at 125 g. The ZOOM models adjust between two working lengths: 3.0 to 3.6 m (3.56 m, 130 g), 3.9 to 4.5 m, 4.5 to 5.3 m, and 5.3 to 6.3 m, letting one rod match footing height and casting room on the spot. Closed lengths sit between 109 and 126 cm. The combination of 3H power and length adjustment is aimed squarely at working pilings and rock edges for chinu.
