MINI Caster II

MINI Caster II (小投手 II, Little Pitcher II) is the second generation of HR's mid-distance casting rod for bottom rigs and drifting float setups. It keeps the first generation's blank flex character and adds updated materials and construction, standard large-bore guides for freer line flow, and upgraded fittings including a Fuji butt cap. HR describes the result as a stiffer, tougher blank with a sensitive tip and a low, light balance point that reduces fatigue over long sessions. The finish uses interleaved color blocking along the blank.

Four telescopic models share a 25 gou sinker class: 3.0 m at 205.3 g in five sections, 3.6 m at 265.1 g, 3.9 m at 274 g in six sections, and 4.5 m at 412.3 g in seven sections, with closed lengths between 102 and 112 cm. All are 99 percent carbon. The format covers harbor and breakwater work where one rod alternates between casting a sinker rig to the bottom and running a drifting float, with enough length in the 3.9 and 4.5 m models to manage line over rocks and current.
