TOYO GANG REN

GANG REN ("rigid and tough") is a heavy iso rod line built around blank balance: the maker's description centers on a weight distribution that keeps the rod controllable during the fight and a solid reel seat that eliminates reel wobble under load. It sits in the same heavy float class as the brand's BIG Island ISO II, trading refinement for load capacity.

Six models cover three power ratings in two lengths. The 1.5 power takes PE 1.5 to 4 and 1.5 to 4 go sinkers; the 2.0 runs PE 2 to 6 with 2 to 6 go; a 3.0 power tops the range. Each comes in 4.5 m 5-piece and 5.4 m 6-piece versions, 198 to 290 g in the listed sizes, all on 97 percent carbon and closing to 106 cm. Ratings to PE 6 make the upper models genuine stopping rods for large reef fish from the rocks.
