Quercus is a technique-specific freshwater bass series offered in casting and spinning, with each model named for the pro who designed it and the job it targets. The casting rods run from the 7' Moderate Wild Card Topwater (IQ702C, 1/8-7/8 oz) and a 7'3" Medium Heavy through a series of designer builds: RP's Worm and Jig at 7'5", the Wild Card Mid Crank and Deep Crank moderate-action cranking rods, Bobby's Perfect Frog Rod at 7'9" (rated for 30-80 lb braid and lures to 2 oz), and the 7'8" Jr. Swim swimbait rod for 2-4 oz baits. The spinning side is anchored by the Hollens Finesse Hammer, a 7' Fast rod for small swimbaits, ned rigs, senkos and dropshot. Lure ranges span 1/8 oz on the finesse and topwater rods up to 4 oz on the swimbait model, with line ratings from 6-10 lb to 14-30 lb. The crankbait and frog rods use moderate actions to load reaction baits and absorb headshakes, while the worm-and-jig and finesse models keep a faster tip. Priced around $199 to $205, Quercus is a mid-tier technique line within the iRod range.
