Melencong means to take a detour, and the Melencong Travel Rod is Kanicen Nix's pack rod: a four-piece 5'10" ultralight that closes down to 48 cm, small enough for a carry-on or a motorbike pannier. Despite the joints it keeps a genuine ultralight spec, rated 1-6 lb and casting up to 7 g with a fast action, built on a 30-tonne Korean blank with a 4-axis carbon wrap for joint strength. Components are Sea Guide guides, an SVS graphite reel seat and Portuguese cork, with a soft cotton travel bag included; complete weight is 90 g.
Both spinning and baitcasting versions are offered. At RM439 it is one of the more expensive rods in the standard lineup, the price of the multi-piece engineering, and it is aimed at small-river and stream fishing on trips where a one-piece rod will not travel.
