Toyol Tamok is the specialist of the Toyol family, a shore eging hybrid built for diamond-scale mullet, the species Malaysian anglers call tamok or loban. It is the longest rod Kanicen Nix makes at 9'2", a two-piece medium light rated 3-15 lb and 2-15 g with a fast action, built on a hybrid 30T and 40T IM10 blank. Titanium SeaGuide guides keep the long blank light and corrosion-resistant, on a VSSMKN16 reel seat with a carbon butt; complete weight is 120-130 g.
Mullet fishing is a game of light bites and delicate hook holds, and the spec reads accordingly: length for casting distance and line control from the bank, a fast tip for bite detection and quick sets, and a forgiving mid-section to protect thin leaders through the fight.
