Child Side is a pair of compact bass rods scaled for children, built to adult standards rather than as toys. Legit Design describes the goal as a proper bass rod for one's own child, sized for a roughly 10-year-old of about 140cm in hand size, grip strength and reach.
Both models are 1.60m (about 5'3") two-piece center-cut rods with Fuji stainless guides and 95% carbon, 5% fiberglass construction. The CSC53ML-2 is a baitcasting model weighing 84g with a 190mm rear grip, rated to 14g lures and 8-14lb line. The CSS53UL-2 is a spinning model weighing 74g with a 180mm rear grip, rated to 7g lures and 3-6lb line, and adds nano-resin carbon. The series carries the same cosmetics and detailing as the adult rods.
Child Side is aimed at parents introducing kids to lure fishing on equipment that handles real baits and real bass rather than a scaled-down novelty rod.
