Kosansui, named for the dry-landscape garden, is Nissin's entry keiryu rod and the widest single family in the range: seventeen rods across four hardness grades, all closing to 53 cm.

Chuukou is the softest, three lengths from 4.45 m to 6.10 m on 0.2 to 0.5 号 harisu. Kouchuukou covers the same three a little firmer. Kouchou is the main grade with eight lengths from 2.65 m to 6.90 m, and Choukou is the stiffest with three, rated to 1.0 号 for heavier water or bigger fish. Weights run 40 g at 2.65 m to 240 g at 6.90 m.

Carbon content is 90% to 97% and prices run ¥8,400 to ¥21,500 before tax, which is what makes it the value choice. The hardness grade is the variant axis: one length is sold in several grades, each with its own weight, tippet rating, price and product number.
