Nissin calls the Pro Spec its basic tenkara rod, and it is the entry point to the ARES tenkara range. Three lengths, 3.15 m, 3.60 m and 4.00 m, each come in a 6:4 or a 7:3 taper, giving six rods from ¥14,200 to ¥17,800 before tax. The 6:4 at 3.15 m is the lightest rod in the family at 55 g; the 7:3 at 4.00 m is the heaviest at 85 g.
The blanks use 84% to 87% carbon, lower than the ZEROSUM and Royal Stage tiers, which is where the price difference comes from, and carry a fine 0.65 mm tip. All six close to 57 cm and are rated for 0.8 to 1.2 号 nylon harisu. They are fixed-line telescopic poles with no reel seat, made in Japan.
