ARES Tenkara Level Line

This is Nissin's rod built specifically around level line rather than a tapered or furled line, with an EVA grip the maker picked for ease of use. Three lengths, 3.20 m, 3.65 m and 4.00 m, with no taper choice: one rod per length at 70 g, 80 g and 90 g.

The tip is 0.8 mm, heavier than the 0.65 mm tips elsewhere in the range, which suits turning over a level line rather than protecting the finest tippet. Carbon runs 94% to 97%, the rods close to 57 cm, and the tippet rating is 0.8 to 1.2 号 nylon harisu. At ¥17,800 to ¥18,900 before tax it is among the least expensive tenkara rods Nissin sells. Fixed-line telescopic poles with no reel seat, made in Japan.
