ARES Tenkara Mini

The Mini is the packable rod of the range: every length closes to 25 cm, roughly half the 57 cm the rest of the ARES tenkara rods pack to. It reaches that by using far more sections, 15 at 2.70 m, 18 at 3.25 m and 20 at 3.60 m, against the seven to ten sections of a conventional tenkara rod.

The trade is price and diameter rather than weight, which stays low at 50 g to 65 g: the many-section build costs ¥22,000 to ¥28,400 before tax and gives a 15.0 mm butt on every length. The tip is a fine 0.5 mm, carbon runs 95% to 97%, and the tippet rating is 0.8 to 1.2 号 nylon harisu. Fixed-line telescopic poles with no reel seat, made in Japan.
