Bourne Trek is Norikura's lighter Dr.BORON line for streams and source streams. The rods span XUL to L+ and handle lures from 1 to 15 grams, the working range for yamame and iwana in tight headwater water. The blanks use the same carbon / boron / carbon / boron / carbon sheet sandwich as the rest of the catalog, so even at the light end the butt carries boron power. That matters in source-stream fishing, where a small rod can suddenly meet an oversized fish; the parabolic slow action bends the full blank and the hard boron butt absorbs and controls the run instead of snapping.
The line includes palm-in-grip builds that seat the reel in the palm for close-quarters casting, and a 4-piece pack rod, the 48XUL Minimum, for anglers hiking into headwaters where a one-piece rod will not travel. Across the lengths the action stays parabolic rather than tippy, loading deep on short casts with light lures while keeping the reserve power Norikura builds into every Dr.BORON blank.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 3 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.
