Nightfall

The Nightfall is Old 18's jetty and surf platform, a small-batch US rod brand with a focus on Northeast and Mid-Atlantic inshore fishing. Target use is rocky jetty and surf fishing for striped bass, bluefish, and other large inshore species where heavy bait, long casts, and durable guides matter. Old 18 positions itself toward anglers who want boutique-quality components on a working rod that takes saltwater abuse. Both models use Northfork carbon fiber blanks with a fast action.

Guides are 316 stainless with a snagless profile, resistant to fouling on jetty rocks and braid-compatible. Old 18 sources blanks from Northfork, which positions these above mass-market alternatives. Customer reviews describe strong casting distance and meaningful backbone on the 11'6" model specifically. Neither model is designed for finesse work; both are built for larger presentations. Two models: NF-90MS-F at 9'0" M power F action (3/8–1 oz, 8–17 lb) and NF-116HS-F at 11'6" H power F action (2–8 oz, 15–40 lb).

The 9 ft is the general jetty rod, versatile enough for a range of lure sizes and live bait, accessible from shore or low structure. The 11'6" is the dedicated heavy-surf and high-jetty model, optimized for casting large chunks and plugs to distant structure and managing large fish in current.
