BlackBlaze is the heavy end of Restaffine's offshore casting range, built for GT and tuna from a boat. It uses the full-length boron blank, where the boron fiber runs the whole length of the rod, to give the lifting power needed to turn and control large fish on heavy plugs and stickbaits. These are the rods aimed at the hardest pelagic targets in the catalog, sitting above the lighter BlueBlaze casting series. As with most of the lineup, rods are built to order, and guides can be specified as titanium-frame SiC or stainless depending on how the rod will be fished. The boron construction is chosen here for its resistance to deformation when the blank is loaded to its limit during a fight, which is the situation a GT or tuna rod is built around. BlackBlaze is a focused, small group of heavy casting tools rather than a broad lineup, configured per order for the angler's chosen lure range and target.
