DeepJerkee is Restaffine's boat eging series for aori squid, built on the full-length boron blank. Boat eging works egi squid jigs over depth from a boat, and the rod must impart sharp jerks to the egi while keeping a sensitive enough tip to read a squid's soft take. The boron construction gives DeepJerkee its load characteristics for that work, pairing the strength to jerk and lift with the feel needed to detect a hit on the drop. Rods are made to order, with guides specified as titanium-frame SiC or stainless, and the boron blank is chosen here to deliver the sharp jerk action eging needs while resisting deformation under the load of a deep egi. DeepJerkee is one of two squid series in the catalog, sitting alongside Excalibur, and is the dedicated answer to boat eging for aori squid rather than the metal-jig squid method Excalibur covers, so the angler picks the series by the squid method being fished from the boat.
