Aquila is Ripple Fisher's boat-casting series for offshore kingfish (hiramasa) and yellowfin tuna, built out to eleven models split into four categories. ST is the standard line, balancing cast, lure control, hook-up and fight across PE2 to PE6 for a wide range of situations. MLT (Multi Purpose) pairs a fine PE2 or PE3 class tip with a PE4 or PE6 butt, so light lines and small lures can still subdue big fish; the model marks like 82-2/4 read as tip class over butt class. MST is the monster-class line for large hiramasa, adding backbone and stickiness in the PE7 to PE9 range for big baits over shallow reef; the plus mark denotes extra strength and durability added to the base power class. EX is the three-piece expedition line (79-3 and 83-6) for travel, offering a sharp feel with a bendable, holdable taper. Lengths run 7ft 8in to 8ft 5in, mostly two-piece with a grip joint. Lure ratings are given as Comfort Weight (the most comfortable weight, not a ceiling). Fuji SiC-S titanium K guides, with Super Ocean guides on the heavier models.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 11 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.
