Avarice is Ripple Fisher's dedicated hirasuzuki (blackfin seabass) rod series, built for fishing the foam (sarashi) off rocky shores in the crosswinds, heavy current and unstable footing that define the game. The blanks favour sensitivity and a flexible tip that picks up the short bites hirasuzuki are known for, with a deep bend that cushions thin-wire hooks to reduce pulled hooks, then a butt with enough reserve to turn 5 kg yellowtail or madai that show up as bycatch. The lineup runs the short, quick 103M and mid-power 106MH, the 11ft 110M and 110H for distance and higher footing, and the 2026 new-concept 104F: a slightly shorter 10ft4in fast-taper rod for tight, selective work with small lures that carries MH+ butt power despite no printed power class. Most blanks use Toray Nanoalloy carbon with Fuji SiC-S titanium-frame K guides. Lures are rated in grams, line in PE, and prices are the pre-tax Japanese MSRP.
