SilverStream Northern is a situation-specific shore series for the sea-run cherry salmon (sakuramasu), sea trout and flounder (hirame) of northern Japan, especially Hokkaido. Two long models, both aimed at casting heavy metal jigs and jig-minnows across shallow rocky flats, tetrapods, breakwaters and surf where the breakline sits far offshore. The 106 Northern Nano is a 10'6" rod rated 30-50 g, built for quick, accurate pinpoint casts on high rock ledges and snaggy structure, with a supple tip that cushions bites to prevent hook-pulls and a butt strong enough to turn fish out of cover. The 112 Northern is an 11'2" super-long-distance model rated 30-60 g that loads deep into the blank for big open venues, holding distance in crosswinds while keeping the high sensitivity and strong butt needed to lift heavy flatfish off the bottom. Both carry Fuji SiC-S titanium-frame K guides; the 106 uses a Nanoalloy blank. Long grips transfer pulling force efficiently. Regular Fast action, PE 1.5 max.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 2 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.
