The Zing is the fourth generation of Samaki's core lure-rod range, built on HyperKinetic Nano+ fibre graphite blanks with reel seats designed separately for spin and cast models. Guides are Fuji Concept O rings, and the grips are hard EVA in Samaki's camouflage finish with red highlights and a tactile locking nut.
The range spans 41 rods from 9' to 10'6" across powers from Extra Light through XXH, split into discipline-specific groups: Estuary, Inshore, Surf, Egi for squid, and multi-piece Travel builds. Newer species-specific models fall in the 7'2", 7'4", and 7'6" band that covers most inshore and estuary lure work.
That spread makes the Zing a general-purpose Australian saltwater lure series rather than a single-application rod. Light and medium-light models suit bream, whiting, and estuary flathead; the heavier and Surf models handle snapper plastics, beach casting, and pelagics off the rocks. The Egi models are tuned for casting squid jigs, and the Travel builds pack down for anglers on the move.
