Monster Hunter is a big-fish spinning family sold in regional editions: the Chao Phraya Edition is specced for heavy pond work on Chao Phraya catfish — 24-ton carbon, chrome-blue double-legged K-guides, centre joint with an unsanded tip — while the Patin Edition tunes the same idea for patin on a put-over blank with a full cork handle. Both are fast-action rods whose job is lifting genuinely heavy catfish off the bottom of commercial ponds, which is its own discipline in Malaysia and Thailand.
