Micro 2026 is Shakespeare's relaunch of its Micro light-tackle line, announced October 13, 2026 with new MCRO-prefix model numbers that replace the older MCR-prefix Micro Series rods. Shakespeare pitches the line at small-species anglers fishing light lures and light line, on carbon composite blanks with stainless steel guides and inserts and cork handles. All thirteen rods are Ultra Light or Light power with moderate-fast action.
The spinning family runs nine lengths: a one-piece 4'6" UL, then two-piece rods at 5' UL, 5'6" L, 6'6" L, 7' UL, 7' L and, new to the line, 9', 10' and 12' Light models that reach into float and long-rod panfish territory. Two casting rods (4'6" UL one-piece, 6'6" L two-piece) and two three-piece spinning travel rods (6' and 6'6" L, supplied with a travel tube) complete the range. List prices are $24.99, rising to $34.99 for the three long spinning rods. Shakespeare does not publish line or lure ratings for the new models.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 13 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.
