Bassterra XT+ A Sea Bass

Bassterra XT+ A Sea Bass covers the lure-fishing end of the XT+ A saltwater range, five two-piece rods from 8ft to 9'6" in light, medium and heavy powers. Sea bass lure fishing spans a wide set of conditions with the same target, from working a small surface lure over a calm estuary flat to putting a heavy lure across a running tide off rocks, and the length and power ladder here is set up to cover that span rather than to specialise.

The 8ft pair is the close-range end, where accuracy around structure matters more than distance. The 9ft and 9'3" models are the general-purpose middle. The 9'6" heavy is the surf and rock option, where the extra length lifts line clear of broken water and the extra power casts into wind.

Blanks are High Modulus Full Carbon with Diaflash construction and Fuji Fazlite guides. Shimano publishes no casting weight for this branch, so none is recorded, and the power values come from the model codes and are flagged as inferred. Released September 2026.
