The ANGL-R is Sonik's dedicated barbel range, designed for river fishing in the UK and Europe. All rods are 12ft. The spread runs a 1.75lb and a 2lb barbel rod for general river work, a 2.5lb Big River model for heavy flows and larger leads, a Multi Tip at 1.75lb, and a Twin Tip rod whose interchangeable tips give 1.25lb and 1.75lb ratings for mixed chub and barbel duty.

The blanks are high-modulus carbon with a very powerful butt section and a progressive through action, the classic barbel-rod shape: sensitive enough at the tip to read a bite in flow, with the low-down reserve to hold a fish out of streamer weed and snags. Night fishing is designed in. The Avon tip carries a luminous coating that glows after a hit from a head torch, and each rod ships with two clip-on isotope holders in small and large sizes.

Furniture is traditional for the discipline: a full slim cork handle, a screw winch reel seat, and M-Series guides with an anti-frap tip ring. The Twin Tip and Multi Tip builds make one rod cover multiple rivers, while the 2.5lb Big River is the pick for winter floods, big feeders, and the far-bank crease.
